Nutritional Behavior Coaching

At Empowered Health, we treat food like medicine. One of the ways we do that is through our Nutritional Behavior Coaching program.

When it comes to food, there are many influences on what we eat as well as how we eat. These can be social, psychological and physiological. Our personal biology and history can also cause us to have unique perspectives and responses to food.

With our Nutritional Behavior Coaching program, your health coach will guide you to gain awareness around which of these influences are interfering with your ability to eat intuitively for your body.

There are several tools we use, depending on your circumstances and goals:

  • Digital Food Diary: Checking for the gap between how you are currently eating, and either
    • How you want to eat, or;
    • Following your medical practitioner's recommendations.

We will co-create a plan to narrow this gap and address behaviors around doing so.

  • Intuitive Eating: Move away from the rules around diet culture and learn to reconnect with your body and hunger signals. These concepts can help you re-learn how to eat based on your body's needs versus arbitrary rules or habits.
  • HeartMath: Utilize mind-body practices to manage stress and address emotional eating behaviors.

Making these changes is a team effort. Between the nutritional suggestions provided by your medical practitioner and the behavioral support from your health coach, you will gain support needed to make targeted changes to nutrition. These changes will empower you to further your health and wellness goals.
