Are you experiencing or at risk for pre-diabetes?

Pre-diabetes is an indication that you are at high risk for diabetes because you have blood sugar levels that are higher than normal. If you are experiencing high blood sugar, it is usually because your body is not responding normally to insulin. If not controlled, pre-diabetes can develop into type 2 diabetes and put you in danger of vision problems, nerve damage, kidney problems, heart disease and more. The onset of pre-diabetes can be caused by genetics, age, obesity, lack of exercise and much more. If you are at risk or have pre-diabetes, you may not experience any symptoms. However, you should consult with a doctor to take preventative measures to reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.

Tips for treating pre-diabetes:

Increase exercise as approved by a doctor. Insulin responsiveness is enhanced for up to 72 hours after exercise.

Consume vinegar with a carbohydrate rich meal, such as balsamic or apple cider vinegars. This increases fullness and slows the rate of emptying from the stomach, which in turn allows the body to absorb the carbohydrate more evenly and decrease blood sugar spikes.
