Jessica Schneider, MD

Doctor of Internal Medicine in Richland, WA

Dr. Schneider is the CEO and founder of Empowered Health. She is board certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine and has completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona studying under Andrew Weil, MD. She also has training through the Institute of Functional Medicine at Cleveland Clinic and has completed a year of training with the Kalish Institute in 2021.

Dr. Schneider grew up locally in Richland and graduated from Hanford High School. She received a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from Washington State University Honors College, graduating summa cum laude. Her dissertation focused on “Current Health Care Conditions in Guatemala”.

She completed medical school and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and has clinical experience working at large medical centers, both locally and in Milwaukee. In 2012, Dr. Schneider was awarded a national “Medical Residents Excellence Award” through the National American Menopause Society for excellence in residency and interest in women’s health.

From 2017-2022, Dr. Schneider served as the Medical Director at Recovery and Wellness Center where she supported development of the first partial hospital program for treatment of eating disorders in Eastern Washington.

Dr. Schneider was recognized as a “Young Professional Award Recipient” for professional achievement through the Tri-Cities Journal of Business in 2020. She received an "Entrepreneur of the Year" award from the Richland Rotary Club in 2021 for her work at Empowered Health.

She is active in local organizations, serving as a board director for Gesa Credit Union and the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Schneider feels passionate about promoting health and enjoys working with patients to achieve their own health goals. In her free time she enjoys being outside, reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and children.

Paul Monié, MD, FAAFP, MPH

Doctor of Family Medicine in Richland, WA

Dr. Monié is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Wyoming and his fellowship in Sports Medicine at Riverstone Health in Billings, Montana.

He also holds a masters degree in public health.

Dr. Monié is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.

He holds a special interest in mens health.

 

 

 

 

 

Haley Scellick, ARNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Haley Scellick is a board-certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has a wide berth of experience in family practice and pediatrics. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing-Advance Family Practice at Gonzaga University and also has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology from Central Washington University.

She has a passion for women’s health and completed a fellowship through the Institute of Functional Medicine, attended conferences with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the Metabolic Medical Institute with an emphasis on optimizing hormones.

Haley is passionate about treating each patient individually with a strong emphasis in lifestyle medicine as the forefront of one’s health. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and has completed two marathons and the Seattle to Portland Bike Ride. Her hobbies also include spending time with her family, cooking and reading.

Erika Zink, NBC-HWC

Certified Health Coach

Erika is a certified health coach, having earned her original training from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy and then completing the requirements to become a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She is passionate about helping others find their inner strength to make lasting lifestyle changes to improve their health and well-being.

She is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC), a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, a Certified HeartMath practitioner, and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). This diversity in knowledge allows her to adapt and personalize her coaching approach to fit each client’s unique situation.

Erika grew up in Kennewick and graduated from Kamiakin High School. She received a Master’s of Science in Chemistry from Washington State University, Tri-Cities. When she is not researching the latest in positive psychology or behavior change, she is in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes and fresh ingredients.

Deidra Witherspoon, RN, BSN

Patient Care Management

Deidra Witherspoon has over 20 years of nursing experience. Her background is in Emergency Nursing and Home Health. In addition to her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Armstrong Atlantic State University she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Valparaiso University.

Throughout her career she has kept her focus on the quality of care that her patients receive and the importance of patient and caregiver education. Deidra has an insatiable need to care for others which she believes to be one of her greatest strengths. In her spare time, she is likely traveling, shopping or cooking.

Leah Prost, MBA

Director of Marketing & Sales; Fitness Expert

Leah is the director of marketing and sales for Empowered Health Institute and has worked in marketing and branding for over 20 years in the healthcare industry. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Graphic Design from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA with a concentration in marketing from Washington State University.

In addition to her marketing role, Leah serves as the Fitness Expert for the Empowered Fit program. Her passion for fitness and physical health complement our vision to help people achieve long-lasting health and wellness. Leah is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher (RYT) and also certified in Mat Pilates, Barre and Ballerobica. She is a group exercise fitness instructor and enjoys sharing physical fitness with others.

Leah has a passion for learning, reading and enjoys spending time outdoors, paddleboarding, cooking and gardening.
