The Galleri™ test is an innovative breakthrough in early cancer detection that can find 50 types
of cancer as early as stage one. Many of these cancers have no current screening options
available.
Empowered Health is pleased to offer this state-of-the-art testing technology which uses next generation sequencing to look at DNA in your blood to determine if any of it may have come from cancer cells.
The test is a blood draw collected at Empowered Health. If a cancer signal is found, the results can point to where in the body the cancer is coming from with high accuracy to help guide the next steps.
False positives on this test are low at a published 0.5% rate. Detecting cancer at earlier stages increases treatment options and improves outcomes.
The test is not currently covered by insurance, although this is in process and hopefully will be covered in a few years. Presently it costs $949 and can be covered with your FSA or HSA. The testing company also provides zero interest payment plans.
This test is recommended for those at higher risk for cancer, such as those aged 50 or older. This test is recommended in addition to and not in place of routine cancer screening.
