Ulcerative colitis refers to a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the lining of the large intestine and rectum. People with this condition have tiny ulcers and small abscesses in their colon and rectum that flare up periodically and cause bloody stools and diarrhea.
Are you experiencing or at risk for Ulcerative Colitis?
Ulcerative colitis is the result of an abnormal response of the immune system in the gastrointestinal tract that causes uncontrolled inflammation. Currently, the cause of ulcerative arthritis is unknown. If you are at risk or have ulcerative colitis, you may experience symptoms such as severe bloody diarrhea, dehydration, abdominal pain, and fever. Tip for treating Ulcerative Colitis:
Studies have looked at turmeric supplementation with UC and have shown benefit. Recommended dosing is 1-2 grams daily of turmeric in divided doses. This supplement label should have 95% curcuminoids (the active compound in turmeric) and have piperine added, which supports uptake of the turmeric. For UC benefit, this should be taken on an empty stomach.
